… of milk bottle, used condom and diapers

Of late, some of you may notice that I have added a new category called “Children’s Education Fund” and an asterisk (*) will be added before the title. This is also to tell you that I have joined the bandwagon writing some paid post to fund my latest hobby i.e. photography. I am now targeting to get an external flash which will cost me around RM1.5k and a 100mm or 150mm lens, also costing about RM1.5k. That is a whole lot of money!

Let me tell you a very hillarious incident. There was once, a friend (male) came to pick me up for lunch. When I stepped into his car, there I saw, a week old milk bottle laying on the floor. I just have to laugh when I see that. Furthermore, it is a week old bottle with all the stains on it. Eww….! Can you imagine my reaction if the milk bottle is a used condom? That is double Eww….! and of course, so hillarious can die lidat!

And another very hillarious thing he told me. Recently, he is hooked in a forum and wanted me to guess which or what forum it is. Out of 6 answers, I got them all wrong. And his answer is…… http://www.diapersasia.com/forum/. (pssst… Sis, quick go register.)

My spontaneous reply was, “HOLY COW!”

For the love of his son or maybe the freebies?  I don’t know.

That really makes me rofling. Ok. All Mummies out there with little babies, go join the forum and grab some freebie as currently they are running a lucky draw for a very cute Starbunz Cloth Diaper.

And no, this is not an advertorial. I just think those cloth diapers is a die for. Too bad Baby Princess is now fully toilet trained. You know, some of the design has got a tail sticking out of the butt. So cute can die lidat!

How can anyone resist Ikea sales. Yes, the sales is back! Since I have a Primary Two school going daughter who have tones of books, I’ve decided to grab 2 big book shelf during the sales. My biggest headache now is putting them up since I don’t have a proper air tools like the drill and screwdriver without hurting my fingers or rather Hubby’s fingers *evil laugh*. So we decided to invest one unit since we have been buying a lot of furniture from Ikea.

Coming soon, FGS Dong Zhen…

I won’t forget our first trip to FGS Dong Zhen back in 2006. The artificial cherry blossom was awesome! However, I was a bit disappointed with the flowers they had in 2007. Purple flower makes the picture so dull. How about this year?

Stay tune!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Yesterday, like usual, I was on LDP highway driving home from work. As I was driving along LDP, from far, the billboard next to Kelana Jaya Seafood caught my eyes. It reads, “Kelly XXX XXX XXX, will you marry me?” Reading the billboard for the second time, suddenly it struck me hard. That was a wedding proposal! OMG! So romantic can die!

Let me sketch one for you.

(Name was accidentally mistaken. Corrected after I drove by again today after work. Please ignore the ‘Elaine’ on the billboard *paiseh* )

The billboard was nice and plain with bolded black font. Instead of him kneeling on his knee, you will have to imagine him standing with one hand tuck in his pocket and another hand holding the ring. Gosh! The image keep on flashing back even when I’m writing this.

Ok. That was really a romantic way to proposed. So I started to day dream a bit. Imagine I am Kelly now. I would have flatter and frozed in the middle of highway. Probably I would come out from my car, climb on the car roof and started yelling, “I am Kelly! I am Kelly!”

And the more I day dream, I started to think, “Dang! That is a whole lot of money. 5k! F.I.V.E freaking K!” Just give me the cash and the ring, I will marry you anyway!

Meeting Nephew and Wife-To-Be

Well, everyday is an obstacle for me to perfect my shots with my Canon 400D. Previously, I’ve grasps enough of outdoor scene. This time, it is in a place that I hate most. I’ve never like taking pictures in a restaurant as they are using yellow lights which makes your picture yellowish and it seems like everyone is down with jaundice. So, lots of trial and error again this time.

Back to the event, my Nephew, Alex who is residing in Singapore was down in KL from KK with his Wife-To-Be, Lily, after a successful ‘negotiation’ with his future Parents-in-law. Eventually we met up with him for a dinner with Hubby’s other siblings. Well, this is my first time meeting her too.

While waiting for the rest to arrive, this is a shot of my eldest bil. I think he can’t make up his mind of what to order.

When I showed him this pic, he can’t remember himself engaging in that posture. lol.

The honorable guests arrived shortly. The moment they walk in, Lily had that glow in her eyes that catches my attention. From there, I whipped out my camera and started snapping secretly.

I have to say, she is really photogenic. Makes my life easier too. haha… She felt very awkward when I keep on aiming the camera at her. Ah well, I told myself to tone down as not make her feel uneasy.

As for food, since CNY is just around the corner, we had Low Yee Sang. Woohoo!

While I was thinking how much exposure/shutter speed to set my cam, suddenly all of them started digging in.

A little of havoc there but I still managed to cheat thru screen. haha…

The happy faces of toasting.

What did I mean by ‘cheat-thru-screen’. In low lights, I set the ISO to 1600 to get a brighter result without using the flash. But anything with high ISO, the picture will turn out grainy. Obviously if you resized them, you can’t see the noise at all. So, this type of picture is not suitable to be printed out. So sad isn’t it.

Well, another trial and error here.

Since I’m using 50mm F1.8 lens, I should have increase the aperture to F4.5 to avoid the blurring image on the left. Well, at least I learn a new thing today.

After all the makan-makan and some socialising with………. (what do you call my nephew’s wife ah?) ………… LILY, she got all excited with the pictures I shot. Ahem! Of course kembang la. This is her comment, “Wow! Never in my life someone captured my photographs this way.”

She then actually started posing for me.

I can’t help myself to scrapbooking again. What a lovely couple they are.

I get Alex to do monkey face at the background. See what he did?

Potong stim. That is not money face la. That is like Mr Bean!

We ended the dinner with CNY dessert. The ‘Nien Kau’ coated with grated coconut.

This is the way how I usually eat them! Now I can’t wait for Chinese New Year to come.

Some people called it ‘the chinese bubble gum’. lol

On the way out from the restaurant, I can’t help myself with one last shot of the ang-ang decoration.

Chinese New Year coming liao lor. Tong, tong, chiang…. tong, tong, chiang…..

p/s: My eye getting an eyesore from the jaundice. Ouch!

Whazzup Advertlets?

advertlets

I was told that Advertlets has closed down. Upon checking their website, it is no longer available. There goes all my advertising money. Luckly the amount of money I have in there is not much. If not, I would sure sulk like mad. This makes me think, should I withdraw all my money from Nuffnang, Adsense and Text-Link-Ad whenever it reaches the minimum amount? So far, I have all the monies accumulating in the advertiser’s account. The reason? Cos I want to see a B.I.G. cheque coming in. Simple! hehe…

Ok. So the rumours of Advertlets had spread. I’m not sure how true it is. But on Sunday, all the Malaysian blogs with Advertlets code could not be access till the Advertlets code was taken down. That happens to me too and now my site is back to normal. So the speculation is there. I hope they will restore their site if the rumours is untrue.

Updated: 10.28am

Not only they are Advertlet-less, they are also domain-less. I’ve found Josh’s Blogger’s blog at http://advertlets.blogspot.com/. You can check them out. So, he is not shutting down Advertlets. Just some glitch happened to his domain during renewal. This is what he said:

What happened?
A complication regarding the renewal process of the domain for Advertlets.com. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

A Wet December

According to the weather forecast, the monsoon season is expected to stretched for another few weeks and the prediction of a wet Christmas came true too.

Few weeks before Christmas, it has been raining every evening without failed. Good thing it was just a drizzle. I would make sure that I kept a spare umbrella in the car at all times instead of the car boot. While digging thru my umbrellas, I’ve found a cartoon umbrella I bought many years back.

Ever since the recovering of the lost treasure, kids have been hopping that it would rain every evening so that they would get the excuses to walk in the rain. And very often, the rebellious kids would fight over who-gets-to-open-the-gate-today!

My intension is to take a photo of the cute duckie umbrella.

d

Look what happen next. They are tugging the umbrella.

d

The Prince won! He gets to open the gate while Princess is looking at him with fiery eye. Oops!

d

That’s not the end as Princess is going to give him a flying kick.

*sigh…. they fight every single day. Enough said. The end.

House Key

I was glad I have a Sister staying just next door. We have each other house key for urgency access during unforseen circumstances for example bring in my laundry during rainy days or popping over to borrow an onion or _____________ (just fill in the blanks) when anyone of us is not around.

Can you imagine if my Sister did not have a set of my house key, where am I going to sleep that night after the incident of my car mishap while Hubby is still away on his business trip?

The next day when I relate the incident of stolen house key to my collegue, I pop out the question to her:

“Do you give a set of house key to your Mom or anyone just incase when this type of things happen?”

“Wah, my Mom in Banting la.”

“Banting only la. My Mom in Sitiawan, you know!” (Yea, my Mom even had a set of my house key just incase she dropped by when I was still at work.)

So, do you give a set of house key to someone you trusted like immediate family member, neighbour or even your babysitter? I can’t imagine calling a doorsmith to cut the padlock or even saw the grill to gain access to my own house.

Some of you might be thinking that leaving the house key in the car is not the right thing to do. I can tell you frankly from the view point of a snatch thieve victim, the world today is not safe anymore be it in the car or in your sling bag. But I can say chances of getting snatch is even higher now. However, I do know of a very safe place to keep your valuable. Keep them in your Bra lor *ngek, ngek, ngek*

Tulan Tuesday

Do I need to say more?

  1. My car was break-in between 12.15pm and 5.15pm at my working place.
  2. The thieve/s has another proton key that is able to slot in my car’s ignition to disable the alarm. How do I know this? Cos that key is still stuck in my ignition slot! The thieve/s could have left in a hurry and forgot about that key. Well, they probably need to steal another key for their next car break-in.
  3. The thieve/s took my Smart Tag (RM200) and Touch n’ Go (RM83.00) *bye-bye $$$*
  4. The thieve/s took my coin box (approximately RM20) *not so heart ache*
  5. The darn CB LC MPK thieve/s took my house key too!
  6. Yesterday spent another RM100 to buy a new pad lock for my house. CB lang!
Other than the above, I do not know what other valuable that the thieve/s took. Anyway, I don’t remember having any valuable things in the car.

I should thanks God for this:

  1. Luckly the thieve/s did not break my window, or else I would have suffer more loses.
  2. Since the thieve/s have another key to disable my alarm, he could have driven my car away!!!! OMG, this really freak me out!!!
  3. I’m still in one piece. Amen!

This morning, I went back to that parking space to pick up my lock. Hopefully the lock is still in working condition so that I don’t have to change the whole lock system. What a tulan Tuesday!
