“Christmas isn’t Christmas,
til it happens in your heart.
Somewhere deep inside you
is where Christmas really starts.
So give your heart to Jesus,
you’ll discover when you do;
That it’s Christmas,
really Christmas for you….”

Did You Get Yourself Any Christmas Pressie?

I got myself this…

Photo taken with my Sony T-10

Canon EOS 400D!

This is the deal I get from Canon Lifestyle Concept Store @ Mid Valley:

  1. Body & Kit Lens (standard la)
  2. Sandisk 2gb CF card
  3. Jenova dSLR camera bag
  4. Jenova Lens cleaning kit
  5. Kenko 55mm Slylight UV Filter
  6. Silicon screen protector
  7. Smile & save Canon centre Photobook voucher (1 book free + 6 books at 30%)

All for the price of RM2,500.00 CASH!

Bye-bye money….

I’ve never cash out so much cash in my life before and it’s gone within a few minutes 🙁 So, is it a good deal? The next best deal was offered by Key Colour (in Mid Valley). For RM2,590.00 they gave me additional compatible battery. I was advise by Canon dealer that it is not good for our camera to use non genuine kit. That is how I ended buying with Canon instead of their authorised dealer.

I can’t wait to explore the ‘new baby’ and of course I need a sifu. Who want to volunteer as my sifu?

The Beginning of Christmas

Every year around this time, the dusty boxes that contained ornaments and fake Christmas tree was dugged out from the attic. There it goes, standing in the living hall for the next 30 days thru the month of December (and sometimes thru January. lol)

And every year, I would lay out the 12 socks that I have in my collection. I just adore Christmas socks. Wish that it would be bigger so that some nice ‘Guy’ could drop a bigger present in it.

Kids just love to set up the tree but no one would volunteer to take down the tree and the poor Mummy would have to clean up the mess aftermath.

This also mark the almost ending of 2007. Gosh, how time flies!

A Little Ranting on CNY

Chinese New Year (CNY) is also known as Spring Festival (春节 – ChÅ«n jié) or the Lunar New Year (农历新年 – Nóng lì xÄ«n nián) is the most important of the Chinese traditional holiday.

Let me share with you random pictures I took throughout the festive season.

Low Sang aka Yee Sang

Traditionally practiced during the seventh lunar month which is also called “Yan Yat” (every human being’s birthday). Dishes consist of thin slices of raw fish (most commonly used are salmon), crackers, shreaded and pickle vegetables, herbs and sauces. While tossing and mixing the ingredients with a pair of chopstick, one should also chant out loud – Huat ah! Huat ah! which means prosperity. There’s also longivity and liveliness but some hockkien Ah Pek forget them all. Who cares. Toss them as high as you can!

Gingko Dessert (Pat Kor – cantonese)

Longan flesh with Gingko and red dates simmer for hours in rock sugar water.

Fireworks

Back then, we used to play sparkles and some fire crackers. Nowadays with the technology advancement, we get to watch 15 minutes of fireworks display for free. There are many beliefs about why fireworks are used. One is that the noise wakes up the dragon who will fly across the sky to bring the spring rain for the crops. Another belief is that the noise of the fireworks is supposed to scare away all evil spirits and misfortunes, preventing them from coming into the new year. Do not forget, it is illegal to light up fireworks.

New Year, new clothes

A suit of new clothes is a must to significant a new year. Here comes a new Superman PJ’s. Yeah, new red underwear for Superman too. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck.

Again some random shots in the temple.

I find these hanging joss stick very interesting. Makes a good photographic item too.

Sien Sien dei… (a bit bored)

… so I change my window desktop wallpaper again 🙂 I love this pic of Princess and Prince back then 3y/o and 1 y/o respectively.

Wow! How time had flies. 4 years ago I go oh-ah over their pic. I love babies. They are so cute. Today, I don’t called them cute anymore.

They are pretty and hansem *cough*

OMG, check this out –

That’s what all my relative told me. The two sisters look so much a like. What do you think?

Two more days to CNY. Yay! I can feel it. Since sien sien dei, I went to the bank to change some new notes for angpow.

It smells better than my pineapple roll and it’s crispier than my rolled pohpia! When I was queuing at the teller, there is a women ahead of me changing thousand and thousand ringgit of new notes. Wah lau. In return, the bank teller gaver her some big angpow packets. When my turn came, that bank teller gave me that kicik-mayong (small tiny) angpow packet. *&%$#@. I almost return the packets to her.

Back to my office now. Eat so many mandarin oranges till sore throat *ish. There are so many types and brands of mandarin oranges out there. Do you know which one is juicy and sweet?

Look out for this. Honey Pon Kam! Very very juicy and very sweet. Too bad they are not seedless. A bit pricey but worth every pennies.

SAy Hi to Pon-Pon

Hieeeeeeeeeee!!!

Oh no! There goes my belly button. On the other hand, it looks like your little soldier! Omg wakaakaaa… protruding somemore.

Just finish my chicken & char siew rice. Boss belanja (treat). Good eh. Best in KL and Peejay. Some say in Singapore too. Go buy yours from Section 17. No need to drool on mine.

Make myself a cup of green tea.

Eat so full. Now feeling so sleepy…. zzzzz…

Be my Valentine.

Hey, how’s your Valentine’s Day? Mine was good. Bought 4 fishes for CNY from pasar malam totalling Rm116.00. Haggle like mad finally got a discount of one ringgit. Use that one ringgit to buy ice-cream. Share with hubby somemore. Romantic or not?

Christmas Eve with Loved Ones

The night starts with a word of Grace from my Dad. His prayer never fail to touch my little heart as it is always a touching, meaningful and a sombre one. This year he seek God’s guidance over the little girls and boys (i.e. his grandchildrens).

This year our theme is red. I love RED! Somehow, Dad turned out wearing green. lol. He looks like a Christmas tree surounded by red ornaments 😉

Dad carved the Turkey to kick-start the night with lots of makan-makan, games and we had so much laughter, the next day I woke up having a bad throat. Wah liao.

What is not in the picture – Mom stormed up a sinful pot of home cooked asam laksa and poh piah (spring rolls). Of course the skin is not homemade which we bought from the market. Eldest Sis bake buns to go with the turkey. It was marvellous minus the preservative. We rolled some sashimis and it was the biggest hit of the night.

Fifth bil dressed up as a Santa Klaus and caught the kids by surprise. Lots of screaming from the older children and lots of squeeking and crying from the younger ones.

It’s all for fun but I think we had a cool father santa as he is wearing a black winter gloves, white bedroom slippers and…. his bump is as huge and fleshy as the actual santa! Wakakaaa…. It’s so huge, Dad actually went and gave him a pinch to see if it is real. *rolling on floor laughting out loud*

Little children crowd santa for sweets but there are some women really going nuts over santa! They are all over him. Firstly it was Mrs Santa. Next came the twins on each side of Santa’s lap. Aiseh, The Queen had put on so much weight. Look at her arm and tai pei :shy: Then came tai kah jeh out-does everyone by jumping and landed on Santa’s lap. Geee…. he must be the happiest Santa on Earth that night. Isn’t it a good thing to be a Santa after all? 😉

The night end with gift exchange. What is counted is the thought and not what we get, or the size or value that is. I would love to post up more pic but connection is really sibeh slow can die lidat at my side as I took 3 days to upload my pictures 🙁 Boohoo.

I would think Christmas isn’t Christmas without the company of your loved ones. There’s another song I love to sing and each time when I sing that, it makes me tears in emotion…..

Christmas isn’t Christmas,
till it happen in your heart
Somewhere deep inside you
Is where Christmas really start.
So give your Heart to Jesus
You’ll discover when you do
That isn’t Christmas
Really Christmas for you.

Hence, by the time I posted this, the tree is back into the dark, spooky and dusty store room waiting to be decorate with sparkles in December. It’s the New Year ahead with lots of busy schedule again. Not sure about you but I do! Have a blessed New Year *muaks!*

Long time ago in Bethlehem…

So the holy Bible says.
Mary’s Boy child Jesus Christ
was born on Christmas Day

Hark right Here the Angel Sings
A New King born today
And man will live forever more
Because of Christmas Day

While shepherds watched their flocks by night
See a bright new shining star
And then they hear a choir sing
The music seem to come from afar

Hark right Here the Angel Sings
A New King born today
And man will live forever more
Because of Christmas Day

When Joseph and he wife Mary
Came to Bethlehem dat night
They find no place to born she child
Not a single room was in sight

Christmas Turkey with stuffing

He laid her on the table, same way as last year

her skin is so white clean and bare.

His forehead wet with beads of sweat.

He rubbed her here and rubbed her there,

He touched her neck and then felt her breast and…

then drooling felt her thigh.

The slit was wet and all was set, he gave a joyous cry.

The hole was wide….

He looked inside, all was dark and murky.

He rubbed his hands and stretched his arms…

and then he stuffed the turkey… 🙄

Keep brine in the fridge for 18 hours or you may store them in a cooler with lots of ice.

P/s: 9 whole freaking hours just to post this? Woohoo!
