While the Baby sleeps…..
… we played a prank on her. lol.
Baby Princess is a weirdo. She don’t suck her thumb but her index finger. The prank is, I used a plaster to wrap around her index finger. The first thing she does when she wakes up is to put her finger in her mouth. Well, we are expecting some commotion and lots of wailing, of course!
We watched her action. Firstly, she tried to peel off the plaster. Then her wailing started. In between sob, she said, “Mummy, si.ti.ker! Mummy, si.ti.ker!” All I could do is started laughing at her antic. Of course I felt a bit pathetic to see her cry. After peeling of the plaster, she resumed her sucking. *gosh!*
Must think of a way to wean her off that index finger. Any idea?

Put red food coloring on her finger and pretend that she suck until her finger bled liao? See she scared boh?

maybe put a bit of minyak cap kapak on the finger.. just hope she dun rub her eyes before putting it in her mouth… 😛

my mom applied some medicated oil on my pacifier when i din wanna let go of it…well of course i din want it anymore when i tasted the pacifier :p

Finger is difficult lah… not like pacifier can just throw and tat’s it.
I used to suck my thumb too… and….(dun faint)… I only stopped after 10 yrs old!!! Wahahaha!! (ok ok, at least I dun suck my thumb when I was out in the public -_-“)
But it’s a very funny thing. I just SUDDENLY stopped sucking it altogether one fine day w/o realising it myself. Keke..
So dun worry, even if she continues to suck, just let her be lor.. she will wean finger sucking automatically one day…

wah liao, naughty & cruel parents tricked poor Baby Princess & made her cry… so khor lien. i don’t think there’s any cure. Can’t force her to stop without upsetting her lots. i bit my fingernails till i was in my mid twenties. Stopped for no particular reason, like Carrie & her thumbsucking 😉

It’s a comfort reaction to something she finds stressful. A bit like me, smoking and adrenaline. Forcing her to stop may cause more (mental) damage. Try using reason first. If not, aversion therapy usually works, but you may find the habit being transferred somewhere else, like bed wetting or other anti social behavior.

haha.. mean mommy!! I heard that putting something nasty-tasting on it will stop the finger sucking. Or maybe can find some other substitute comfort item??
