The Hip Hop Dance Challenge

Few days ago, we was watching a Hip Hop Dance competition on teevee.  This is how the competition goes. There are three contestant. Everyone need to show a few Hip Hop movement and the one awe the judges most win.  My 7 years old son was watching it with “eye popping-jaw dropping-salivar drooling-lost in the world” concentration.  Breaking the silence, I dare him to challenge me.

Same rules, each person should out beat the other with a Hip Hop movement.  He was more excited than me!  Rolling his shoulder, pulling up his sleeve and he challenge me with his first movement:

*rolling eye*  The Hip Hop way of handstand

Now my turn *ahem*.  The Mummy doesn’t know Hip Hop but you know, most of their dance movement is so closed to Yoga.  Drum rolling…

The Kondinyasana
(Ya la tu, I know I got a dem fat thigh. Can stop staring at it now unless you can recommend  diet pills that works for the thigh.)

You should look at the expression on my 7 years olds son!  His eyes popped out and jaw dropped one more time!  That is a priceless moment! LOL!

This time he beh kam muang (don’t want to give in).  He took a deep inhalation, pull up his sleeve again and challenge me his second movement:

*waving white flag*  I can’t do a cartwheel.  He was darn happy that he won!

Everybody, clap hand la!

She Ain’t Heavy, She’s My Teacher

People always ask what is my secret of staying slim after three kids. My formula would be, eat moderately + exercise + be happy = most effective diet pill

Abs exercise is very effective for me.  The above is some example of abs exercise I did with my kids when they was younger.  Pictures taken sometime in 2007.  Eat full nothing to do, this time I decided to try lifting my Teacher to see how far I can progress.  Not that she is going to sit on my leg.  Siao meh?  Lifting her is no biggie actually since her size is petite.

This is my Yoga Teacher.  The proper way of positioning the feet is to place them at your partner’s groin area.  (AND SUCK THAT ABS IN!!! Thank you.)

Not too bad except when I tried to position my arm forward, the legs started to get woobly.

And now is my turn to go on top.

Teacher is always a teacher right?  This time our hands are parallel with each other.  Let me tell you what is the feeling being lifted up there.  Performing Partner Yoga poses builds a very high level of trust on your partner and nothing else. With all confidence and trust, I managed to let go one hand.

I was very near to perfect it with a prayer pose (palms put together in front of your chest) but the non existence of  support really makes a difference!  I was terrified of height!  I was afraid of falling!  I can tell that my legs flew apart and there goes my balancing.

*phew!* Such a terrified act.  I cannot understand why my kids love it so much!  Can’t wait for Daddy to come home this Wednesday.  I’m going to try lifting him this time. muahahaha!

Namaste, everyone!

Yogi Clown

I have been a Flexitarian for almost 18 months ow.  Lately I have discovered that I dislike to eat KFC.  The smell, the oil, the meat, the whole KFC really put me off.  I do take meat occasionally and still goes for Bah Kut Teh ;) .  But this KFC thing is weird. Generally, I am leaner now compare to last year which I almost resorted to weight loss pills.  I think the idea of being a Flexitarian is not bad at all.  It sure gave me the benefit of doubt.

Few weeks ago, we decided to dine out at Yogitree in The Garden, Mid Valley.  The shop concept is to serve everything that is organic and pure.  The food is great!  I’ve got the review in Yogajess (shameless self promotion *cough*). While waiting for our food to arrive, I decided to take few Yoga poses pictures for my other blog.  Knowing kids, they won’t leave me alone and always participate in the things I do.

The result?

Full Lotus Pose

Tree Pose

Very cheeky little boy.  Nowadays whenever I am in Tree Pose, he will tease me with his cheeky pose.  Really makes me piak his backside. LOL

Silhouette

Muahahaahaaa…… I just came back from my 4 days holiday in Pangkor Island. I can’t help myself but to spam my blog with pictures again. But I promised you. This is something very different. I have never shot anything so magnificent before. The sunset in Pangkor Island Beach Resort (Formerly known as Pan Pacific Pangkor) is really awesome! I have never seen anything so beautiful before.

Pictures taken at 7pm.

At the beginning I thought it is not a good idea to have the coconut in the picture, but the more I look at it now, the more I like it.

This is not taken at Pan Pacific. This is in Pasir Bogak beach. The one in town. It would make a even better silhouette with a couple smooching on the beach.

That’s me in one of the yoga pose called Dancer pose.

This is my favourite shot of all. I was so thrilled to see the Hornbills and the longer I stay, more Hornbills flew down for their dinner.

I shall post more pictures on the outing in my coming post. aitelyu, the hotel is truly out of this world. We love going back there again one day.
