Why No Updates Wan?

I know I so deserved to get my ass kick.  Too bad I have a mission to accomplish and I am some what almost there.  I can’t wait to show you my farm!  On the other hand, I have been pretty tight up with quite a number of things (family involvement i.e. Sis undergo appendix surgery, Mom undergo a minor surgery, weddings, kids exam, homework, housework, etc, 4396510) (swearing in numbers as my cap lock is faulty!) and next week, I’ll be travelling with my kids again.  Woot!  I think that makes me somehow not in a mood to blog.

Some pretty photographs I took during my Cousin Yun’s wedding:

The last photo shows that there are too many photographers around!  This is a good thing when you have lots of friend carrying a dSLR.  You get free shots but then, bad day for the official photographer (the one in green shirt) as he can’t get a nice shot without ‘additional’ faces in there.  I have never felt so uninvolved in my cousin’s wedding.  Seeing so many photographers around, I better kwai-kwai sit in one corner, yea?  I only sneak up when the official photographer is out of sight.  I know I am such an obedient dog.  Woof!

Wedding: Alex & Lily

Note: For more pictures on the wedding, please click the Photo Gallery link on my right bar. What I’ve posted here is the best 33 pictures out of 500 pictures that I really love. The one uploaded on the slideshow is the next best 100 pictures that I like.

To begin, I was not the official photographer for my Nephew’s wedding. More of self invited only. Kekeke. Good thing tho as I can have my own sweet time to capture ‘moments’ and ‘details’ on the events and this is the best time for me to graps the new Tamron AF 28-75mm f2.8 lens that I just bought specially for this wedding too. Not to waste anymore time, here are the pictures:

Love the white blinds as it allowed plenty of sun to shine thru. This is Alvin, the bride’s Eldest Brother.

This is also one of my favourite, favourite, favourite pic.

Baby Princess took one of the postcard from the hotel. Without paying. ‘-.- I thought it was some sort of complimentary corporate holiday cards from the hotel as a token of appreciation, mana tau, postcard pulak. Potong stim. ‘-.-

Another shot of her that I love. Don’t be fooled by her innocent smile.

The ceremony (ROC) is about to begun.

Eldest Princess with her cousin. She had a better version of this shot on her PNS.

Niece – Crystal: Love the bokeh again.

During the swearing where the Registrar blurted, “Don’t hold hands yet.” and all of us burst into laughter. Look at the shying bride. Blushing man!

The million dollar question, “Do you agree to take this woman as your wedded wife?” “Yes, I do!”

The proud Mama aka my Eldest SIL

… and another one thousand hundred million dollar question, “Do you agree to take this man as your wedded husband, wash his underwear, cook for him, clean after him, spend all his money, etc…” (OK, I was just kidding. But the fact is true. *kekeke…)

Oh, man! If I was one of the audience, I would have weep the tears of joy too. I am the type that can’t watch soap operas. But that day was different. I was too busy taking pictures. I just wish she could weep longer! So the touching.

Initially the Bride was smart to turn away from the camera’s direction. I have to really squeezed myself between some potted plants at where I am standing.

Guess which hand belongs to the bride? No prize for the correct answer tho.

The Bride’s witness signing away at the dotted line.

This is also one of my favourite, favourite, favourite picture.

The official photographer at work. The funny thing is, he stands at where he is and I stand on the other end and never did once he came over my side for a shoot. Why ah? That makes me shy to walk over to his side too. So what you see is basically almost at the same spot i.e. next to the bride and he would have all his pictures took from the Bridegroom side. Crappy!

One happy family.

One of my favourite shots too. That way, the Grandfather doesn’t look so fat… sheesh…. :roll:

All the shots I took are mostly candid. Why? Because the official photographer was there. Duhh. And of course, I was kinda shy to ask the Couple to pose even though I have tones of idea running. Never the less, I still love the candid very much.

This is actually a group shot but I zoom all the way and frame at the Couple only. kekeke…

Makan time! This two years old niece can eat curry puff! I wonder how did the parents trained their kids as my 8 years old can’t even take anything with pepper on it.

By the time I open the food container, all I see is food crumbs. So sad and super hungry.

The Bridesmaid’s corsage. Also one of my favourite, favourite, favourite shots!

I stole this shot from far. kekeke…

In the evening during the tea ceremony, I tried several angle but they all don’t looks nice and all their movements are too fast. I gave up after a short while.

Was more than happy to be able to capture this moment. I tried capturing the teacup exchange but failed. Like I said, they are too fast for me. One of the reason is because I was too tired. Not drained energy but the camera is too heavy! They weight more than a tons after you put on the 28-75mm lens and external flash.

I am sure the photographer will thanks me for this shot. He better did!

The many fine details around the wedding banquet. I am glad I noticed their initial embossed on the wedding cake.

My nephew asked if I changed any battery during the event. Well, the camera body’s battery is very ‘tahan lasak’ (long lasting). But the flash battery…. I used up 8 pcs of rechargeable battery and 4 pcs of alkaline battery throughout the day. That is a lot! I think I will need to get more rechargeable battery as alkaline is too expensive.

My verdict? Overall, the Tamron AF 28-75mm f2.8 lens is good superb. It gave me more control compare to 50mm lens as most of the time, I will masuk longkang (falls in the drain). I don’t mean to say wide angle are good. They have their own specialty actually. I still love 50mm for portrait shots but wide angle is still better for covering events.

More pics in my Photo Gallery. Enjoy…

Jomel’s Wedding and….?

…. can I also include it as a Blogger’s Meet so that I can file them under the “Blogger’s Meet” category? Hehe, thank you!

So, it was Jomel’s (no point linking her since you have to be an invited reader) wedding over the weekend and she is so kind to put the bloggers on the same table. Luckily we was assigned to a table at one corner. That way, we have lots of ample space for us to walk around and camwhore. As usual, me and my weaknesses. I really need to get an external flash as soon as possible. All this crappy pictures is driving me bonkers. And the worst part is, the Bride and Bridegroom has finished with their smooching and the darn built-in flash still shows the “BUSY” sign. Grrrr! Another new thing I’ve learnt or explored at this wedding reception apart from what I’ve learn during my cousin’s wedding. My Sifu was lecturing me as why I did not use the prime lens (aka 50mm lens) instead of the zoom lens. And he go bla bla bla which I don’t see the logic at all. He could be right and also wrong at the same time. My main reason was 50mm lens is good for portrait and not wide angle shot. And he go bla bla bla again. Alright! So this time I tried to shoot the reception with my prime lens. Well,everyone have different preference. I think I will stick back to the zoom lens for wedding reception.

First shot on Ms Titoki:

I can never go wrong with portrait shot. Kinda like expert in this field la. *Ahem*

Fyi, today I came as a guest. Not the photographer ok? This is the official photographer.

Everybody say Hi to Ah Tak! After you saw his work, you will think my skill can go down the longkang. That is why whole night I don’t bother to take many pictures. No point lor. Mine only crappy camera with no external flash. :( There we go again talking about the flash. Huhuhu.

The deco on every table.

This is a very good idea as a ‘Thank you” gift. I love how Jomel replaced the mints wrapper with her personal note.

This is what was printed on it -

  • IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, UNWRAP & SAVOUR. Hmm… I wonder what type of emergency is it. Maybe as a mouth refreshment?
  • INGREDIENTS: 100% Love, Caring, Sharing, Respect, Hope, Understanding & Faith
  • BEST BEFORE: June 2058 – And again I am wondering what it meant. Could it be the shelf life of the mint or ….. nevermind. *slap mouth*

Sweet cupcake for everyone.

Jomel almost bake her own cupcake. She is one super lady.

Every nooks and corner was decorated with something. For example the walkway, rose petals was scattered all over the red carpet.

If you look carefully on the left bottom, that is actually a heart shape formed by lots of rose petals. Can you imagine how much Jomel spent on roses and also tealight holder?

Bloggers that presence that day: (Don’t ask me what happen to the pic!) (Finally hijacked Ms Titoki picture.  I love them I mean us so much.  so Wacky!  Just like us!)

Nyonya Penang, Win Liuliu, Sengkor, Ms Titoki, Nine3 Nine4 and Peter Tan

The MC for that night is Ivy. She is very very very friendly. If you are looking for MC, I would highly recommend her.

Look at me! I was so tanned from my previous Pangkor Island trip.

And this is someone I was so thrilled to see. The Co-MC and also Mandarin translator is ThaiBoxingGirl!

When Ivy told us she is ThaiBoxingGirl, all of us almost go ga-ga. Mind you, her Mandarin can beat anyone flat anytime! Her accent is so extraordinary, so pleasant to the ear and she can sing very well too. I was totally caught off guard by her.

You may want to camp at Ah Tak’s blog for more pictures. (If there is any). All these pictures I’ve posted has passed my stringent QC. The rest will remain in my hard drive. Dare not show people. haha! For the closing, may I present you the Bride:

I like this shot but she prefer the other one.

So I just put up 2 shots of her. Solve my problem.

… and the Bridegroom

(I know you love all my pictures. Don’t have to cry la. *pat, pat*)

Many Happy Return to the newlywed. The End.

Clap hand la everybody!

Wedding: Andrew and Agnes

The night before the wedding, I was still debating with myself if I should go ahead to be the OFFICAL photographer for my Cousin’s wedding. Being the official photographer means I cannot afford to make any mistake. Pressure was on me now. At the other hand, if I pulled out, Cous will have no one to take pic for him. I think I’ve made the right choice after seeing all their guests and friends snapping away from the mobile camera.

Just shaddup if you think so and so Louise Pang or Kid Chan or Ah Tat can take better picture than me. I am not a professional photographer. The pictures I took are mainly for my eyes only and for fun. You don’t compare an orange with a watermelon, right? Thru this experience, I’ve learn a few things about myself. The bad ones would be lack of experience and lots of weaknessess. And you don’t think my Sifu is easy to deal with. When you go to him for advice like, “Sifu ah, why the pic like this and like that wan?” In return, he will question me back instead of telling me the answer. Me, “I increased ISO to 1600 and switch on the flash. Aparture f5.6 liao wor.” Sifu final answer will be, “If that is the case, go get a new lens and external flash.” Really char tou!

Please enjoy the full wedding pictures from my gallery. In future, you may also click on the ‘photo album’ link which is situated on my right bar. Good thing I’ve decided to upload them on the gallery so that I can spare the mercy on my readers for the torture and eyesore having to going through tons and tons of photographs in my blog. Here are some random shots that I like.

This shot will looks nice on a fish eye lens. Too bad I don’t have one.

Oh, spot my new watermark? Another Cousins was saying my previous watermark is too distracting. It should be mini like the Mini Cooper.

I totally love this shot on Cous main door.

Love the new watermark.

I was waiting for this moment. I hearts fake lashes!

Sorry about the zits. No time to photoshop it away. Totally love the lashes again.

Learned a new trick so that I don’t appear in the mirror.

Some people may not like darker pic so I have another one taken with flash.

What do you think? I still prefer the first one. Regretted that I didn’t took the full length of the dress. Was just plain lazy to change my lens.

Conversation with 8 y/o: Mummy, why *hands was seen cupping her own breast* it must be so big? Mummy, why *hands cupping her own breast again* they like it to be different there? (Lots of glitters)

With the help from natural sunlight. Totally love the effect.

Was standing on a chair. I think I need a ladder! *you lazy ass. where is your wide angle lens again?*

Effect from natural sunlight again.

Reminded myself to take a shot of their rings. I just keep on forgetting. Urgh!

Black watermark doesn’t looks nice. Bluek.

Thanks Cous for giving me the opportunity to cover your wedding. Come collect from me your CD consisting of 370 pictures!

Cousin’s Wedding & Grandma’s Birthday

Short Note: Never insult a photographer if you know nuts about photography!

Just some random shots I took during my Cousin’s wedding dinner in Pangkor.

For those that are getting married, make sure you buy this gold Phoenix tea pot. The colour is totally outstanding.

Good thing Cous is 5 months older than me. That safe me one yam char angpow. hehe…

The happiest time would be my 3 kids getting 6 angpow! Syok max!

Lots of bling-bling too.

Which one do you adore? I would say the purple germ gem.

Lots of clowning with my other Cousins.

She is one of them.

Food was good. The one I love most is the yam paste with ginkgo. The Hockkien called them Orh Nee.

I will try to make this one day. Looking at it make me salivating again. *slurp*

Sorry, no pictures of the Bride and Groom till I get the green light from them. Achelli, I volunteered to covered their wedding day this coming Sunday but I think I need more confidence, skills and better photography equipment like a 85mm lens or external flash. If you read this Cous, I am so sorry to ffk you last minute. Am really really sorry. But I will still attend your Bachelor’s night :) .

(Dang! Where is my guts.)

Ok, Cous wedding dinner and Grandma’s Birthday was pre-arrange on the same weekend so that we (from outstation) do not have to travel back to Pangkor twice. So, the next day we celebrated my Grandma’s 93th Birthday. Woot! Never underestimate my Grandma. At 93y/o, she can blow out the candle in one puff. Nak tangkap gambar pun tak sempat. Luckly left one lit candle.

Hubby’s boss think if I were to live till 93y/o, possibly that I could have 2 husbands. Very chim hor, nevermind. A little conversation with Son.

Son: Ah Chor (Great Grandma) got a lot of black spots on her face.

Mum: Yes. Next time Mummy old already will have black spots too *cringe*

Son: At what age?

Haha! I also don’t know la Son. I don’t even know if I can live pass 80y/o.

~~~***~~~***
On an unrelated matter to the title above, while in the ferry from Pangkor to Lumut, guess who I met on board?
EAT FIRST THINK LATER!
No, not you. I mean her nickname is Eat First Think Later. hehe. She is one of the famous food blogger. Do check her out ok? I mean her blog. *rolling eye*
