*Mesothelioma
3 years back when the doctor break the news to us that my Mother-In-law was diagnosed with mesothelioma, our heart just went crashing. Even though we are still in the shock of the bad news, the curious me started to google the internet about Mesothelioma.
Alas, I found out that Mesothelioma is a type of lung cancer causing by the exposure to asbestos. The cancer takes time to develop like maybe 30 to 50 years before we could notice the sympton. There is currently no cure for Mesothelioma except for chemotherapy, radiation treatment, surgery or all three of them. We was brought to understand that Mesothelioma is a very rare cancer and sad to say, after a year of fighting with the cancer, MIL finally gave up and I can tell you, seeing her suffering in silence is the most painful experience to us.

Were your MIL’s house exposed to asbestos?
Yeah, sometimes I’m like that too. When someone in the family is inflicted with some kind of diseases, the first thing I’ll do is google it and to be better informed and prepared.

I’m sorry to hear that. Yeah, asbestoes has got to be the the worst thing… luckily now most houses don’t use asbestoes as construction materials anymore.
